Kalshi Intelligence Layer ("the Extension") is a browser extension that enhances the Kalshi.com
trading experience. This policy explains what data is stored and how it is used.
Summary: All your data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell personal information. If you enable optional AI summaries, only public news headlines are sent to Anthropic using the API key you provide.
Data Stored Locally
The Extension stores the following data in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local):
- User Preferences: Panel width, theme, block order, visibility settings, workspace mode, polling interval, and optional AI settings
- Thesis Notes: Your personal notes and probability estimates for each market
- Price Alerts: Alert configurations you create
- Cached Data: Temporary market data and news headlines
- API Key (optional): If you enable AI summaries, your Anthropic API key is stored locally on your device
This data stays on your device unless you explicitly enable the optional AI summary feature.
External Services
The Extension connects to the following external services:
- Kalshi API (api.elections.kalshi.com): Fetches public market data such as prices, volume, and event data.
- Google News RSS (news.google.com): Fetches public news headlines related to market topics.
- Anthropic API (api.anthropic.com) - Optional: If you enable AI summaries and provide your own API key, public news headlines are sent to generate summaries. Thesis notes are never sent.
Data We Don't Collect
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not track browsing activity outside the extension's functionality on Kalshi pages
- We do not use analytics or tracking scripts
- We do not have user accounts or our own backend servers
- We do not sell or share user data
Permissions Explained
- storage: Save preferences, thesis notes, alerts, and cached data locally
- notifications: Send price alert notifications
- alarms: Check prices periodically for alerts
- Host permissions: Access Kalshi pages and fetch data from the APIs listed above
Data Deletion
To delete all stored data, uninstall the Extension from chrome://extensions.
You can also clear extension data through your browser's extension storage controls.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
